Kyoto Cultural Immersion: Ramen Meets World-Class Tourism

This curated excursion offers an immersive journey through Kyoto, designed specifically for participants of APacCHRIE 2026. Bringing together gastronomy, cultural heritage, and experiential tourism, the program showcases how local traditions can be transformed into high-value tourism experiences.

The day begins with two parallel culinary experiences: a hands-on ramen-making workshop at Ramen Factory or a dynamic fire-ramen performance at Menbaka Fire Ramen. Participants will then visit Sasaki Sake Brewery for a guided tour and tasting, followed by a Zen meditation session at Gesshin-in Temple.

The highlight of the program is a special visit to Kiyomizu-dera, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where participants will gain rare access to normally non-public areas, opened exclusively for this excursion, along with a private explanation by a senior temple representative.

The program concludes with a karaoke networking session—one of Japan’s most distinctive social practices—offering a relaxed environment to deepen connections with fellow participants.
